The African Albinism Initiative (TAAI) is an Independent Non-Profit Organization founded by Mr. Anumudu Anthony in July 2020 to reach out and extended charitable helping hand to Person's With Albinism (PWA's) in both rural and urban regions of Africa through government interventions, philanthropists, and good hearted individuals.
TAAI is triggered by a need to educate and enlighten the general public on the challenges faced by PWA’s (exposure to Ultraviolet Radiation – UVR, persistent skin cancer, ritual killings, superstitious believes, deprivations, stigmatization, etc.) by creating awareness for social change and incorporating them into programmes of both public and private organizations.
The initiative also focuses on increasing self esteem of PWA’s, especially those hiding under the fears of stigmatization due to their skin condition by provide medical support, basic educational supports, funding and sponsorships of crafts, talents and handworks, creating awareness on the need for quality health care and hosting events to celebrate the doggedness of these special citizens.
